If you want to avoid serious dental problems, you need to take care of your mouth through good oral hygiene and regular semi-annual dental hygiene visits. Remember the old adage, an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure? Well, nothing could ring truer in the world of dentistry than that old saying.
Dental Hygiene and Preventative care keeps dental visits to a minimum
We want you and your family to have the healthiest teeth possible. Regular, semi-annual check-ups, beginning when your first teeth poke through your gums, will achieve this. The earlier we can help you take care of your teeth, the less time you need to spend here. And the more time you get to spend doing things you want.
When your teeth demands more than dental hygiene cleaning and maintenance
In a perfect world we would all brush and floss regularly, and our check-ups would be 100%. Unfortunately, the real world doesn’t always work that way and there are times when more attention is required on our teeth.
There is no need to worry, as Dr. Palmer is trained for this exact type of scenario. She knows that even despite our best intentions, things go awry. Circumstances out of our control sometimes pop up and we need additional work on our teeth. We proudly offer laser therapy and Perio-Protect for these patients.
That’s why in addition to all the specialty treatments and procedures she provides, at the heart of her practice she still believes in grassroots, fundamental dental care.

Lasers have a wide range of uses in the medical field. At our office, our diode laser is used to sculpt tissue in the mouth to more ideal cosmetic contours, treat or remove lesions like canker sores/cold sores or potentially dangerous lesions. Last but not least, as part of our hygiene program, our hygienist is trained to use the laser to treat periodontal/gum disease painlessly and non-surgically.
Computerized TMD/headache treatment
We have a computerized jaw tracking/muscle tension evaluation system that helps us to diagnose and treat symptoms of TMD (temporomandibular disorder). TMD symptoms include but are not limited to: headaches/migraines, jaw joint pain or noise, ringing in the ears, dizziness, neck/back/shoulder pain or stiffness, postural problems and many others. This computer system is also used to make the neuromuscular athletic mouthguards (see list above) and neuromuscular oral sleep apnea/snoring devices.
Computer-milled custom porcelain restorations
Now many custom permanent porcelain restorations are computer scanned and milled for a perfect fitting restoration.
This is a special type of laser than can be used to defect cavities that are often hidden below the surface of the tooth and not always picked up on x-rays.

Physiologic Sleep Apnea/Snoring Appliances
We are certified to provide dental appliances to help you ( or others in your family) get back the rejuvenating sleep you need. Yes, braces! Many adults are much more self conscious of their ‘crooked’ teeth and would like to have them straightened. However crooked teeth, often just a cosmetic concern, may be a cause for jaw/bite problems which can lead to many symptoms of TMD (temporomandibular disorder). Some symptoms are headaches, neck and back problems, jaw pain or noise, dizziness, ear problems etc…
Dr. Palmer is certified to provide neuromuscular/physiologic orthodontics
This means that not only will we straighten those crooked teeth so you can look your best, but we will pay close attention to the jaw joint and muscles associated with the teeth so that they all work in harmony. Crooked teeth can also cause gum/periodontal problems due to difficulty in keeping things clean. Therefore, straightening them can make your home care significantly easier.
